A Comfortable Root Canal Experience

I was experiencing pain in the rear and stuff. And it’s one of those things that – the pain can be tricky. As I learned from Dr. Pepa is that I thought it was lower, an upper one. The pain was just radiating between up or down. I really couldn’t find out which one it was. And so coming here and being examined and going through the process and identifying. So, I would experience a level of discomfort, which brought me in. We X-rayed, we took a look at it, and we outlined what needed to be done regarding the root canal.

The comfort level for me, again, knowing I had the right person, Dr. Pepa, the comfort level comes again in making sure that I was numbed properly, and just getting at it and making sure that I was comfortable. And that was just part of, making sure my blood pressure was correct, make sure we’re doing it at the right time, because they’re looking at the big picture.

In my humble opinion, they’re not just a dental, but you know, they can say, “Hey, your health is all right.” I have a history with high blood pressure, as an example. So she wanted to make sure that the timing of that root canal was consistent, that my blood pressure was right, that I was taking my medication – those things that were making sure that I would be safe and that the root canal was at the right time as well.

I’ve had root canals prior to the 20 years before Laser Dental and Dr. Pepa. And that’s almost like a scary movie and happening, just to hear those words, “root canal” again. But we fast-forward, we do it the Laser Dental way. We do it the Dr. Pepa – who explains things, how it’s going to be done, putting you at a comfort level prior to the procedure, knowing what needs to be done.

And again, I use those big old words again, “trust.” I trust in Dr. Pepa. I know she’s doing the right thing. I know that she’s more than capable. I haven’t looked in the dental list of dentists that say that she’s number one, but she’s number one in my book. And I want to believe that wholeheartedly. That lies, that word “trust” again that I have in Dr. Pepa.

A Straighter Smile with Invisalign

I considered braces over the years, but I never really had any issues with my bite or anything like that. A couple of years ago, as I was having some visits here and they would look at my overall health, they noticed that some of the enamel on the back of my teeth was grinding down, and I do grind my teeth at night.

And my teeth started shifting. The minor amount of alignment that could have been corrected before with braces now was being complicated because my teeth were actually moving. So I had two issues: I had grinding my teeth, and my teeth were moving and shifting and getting even more crowded. The Invisalign product is something that helps correct both of those things.

When I decided to go ahead with this, I had already known a couple of people that had used the product or a similar product, and they had some issues speaking, and so I didn’t know if I was going to have that same issue. I found I really don’t have an issue with it at all, and most people don’t even know that I’m wearing it.

Of course, I know that I’m wearing it, and you have to do a lot of maintenance. So along the way, you brush a little more frequently and floss a little more frequently, but in the whole scheme of things, in nine months, I’m going to have a brand-new smile, and it’s totally worth it for me.

It made a big difference. Everybody that notices my teeth can tell. I’ve only been wearing them for just over five months, and there’s a lot of movement in the right direction.

Fixed His Smile with Dental Crowns

I come here on a regular basis and to make sure that any problems I have with my teeth are corrected promptly. And from time to time, there’s a proactive care-taking to address gum issues and cavities. Over the last couple of years, the team identified a couple suspect teeth that they wanted to talk about crowns, and we were able to plan ahead over two or three insurance years to address the most serious issue. I ended up getting three crowns. I don’t usually get a crown a year, but that’s how it’s worked out recently. But we were able to proactively plan that with the insurance so I could prioritize and get the most serious ones taken care of first. I’m currently in process of getting a crown, and when that’s resolved, I hope that I won’t have to … anymore crowns coming up for the next few years. They’re proactive … their sensitivity to my finances and my insurance and, most importantly, making sure that my teeth are kept in the best care possible.

Increasing His Dental Education

I think in that the education and learning process and, which I often get lessons on, you know, flossing correctly, daily brushing, the advent of electric toothbrush, you know some things that I can do – rinsing the sweets and some things that historically maybe I took for granted. We’re taught flossing, the very basics of that. I’m constantly reminded when I come here that, “We can tell you flossing or not flossing, Jack; let’s get back on it.” Not just saying it, but arming me with those tools.

When you leave here as Laser Dental, you’re given a packet of sort of toothpaste. You may take those things for granted, but I really feel that it’s a necessary evil and a reminder – the flossing, the toothbrush, the toothpaste, those things, the next appointment, sharing what those X-rays are, and things like that. The same thing for my family. So when I speak in terms of Laser Dental, I just not speak for myself, I speak for my family. My wife, my son as well, are also a part of the quote, “Laser Dental family,” have you here, and their dental hygiene has improved. My wife is the chief teeth police. So she’s an advocate of Dr. Pepa at just a whole other level for sure.

She Loves it at Laser Dental Associates

It’s just a welcoming environment. They’re very friendly. I feel comfortable here. I have no anxiety, no nervousness when I come. I love them, actually. It sounds crazy, but I do look forward to my visits here because they are such a wonderful staff, and I love the results that they’ve given me. I actually do have a friend who I recommended. She was very afraid of coming to the dentist. She hadn’t gone in several years, and I said, “You have to come to see Dr. Pepa. She’s the best as far as I’m concerned.” Her mannerisms, her bedside manner, her chairside manner, whatever you want to say. She is all about you and your comfort, and to me, that’s a number one priority when you come to see a dentist. My husband, who hasn’t been to a dentist in a long time, I talked him into coming. He’s come here, my son comes here, and we’re all very pleased with our dental health because of her and their staff. Dr. Pepa has just made my dental experience something that I’m not willing to go anywhere else for because I just feel so at ease with her.

Invisalign gave her a great smile

As everybody knows, the smile is one of the first things people look at, and I always wanted to have that white smile, straight teeth. I didn’t like the fact that two of my teeth were overlapping, so I couldn’t fully clean my teeth. I just didn’t like it overall, so I felt like it was time for a change. I asked and with their opinion, they directed me exactly where I wanted to be, and now after only a couple months, I feel like I have the smile I’ve always wanted.

It kind of worked out great because I didn’t have metal braces during the times you don’t want to have it – middle school, high school – so I’m actually glad I waited. I always felt like there would be something a little more improved than wires. Didn’t like the way it looked. I had a lot of friends who had the wires, and it was cutting the inside of their gums. It just didn’t seem like something I would want to do. And also the fact that once you remove the metal out of the teeth, you still have some off discoloration between the way your teeth were prior to putting them on to how they look after. And it just wasn’t for me.

When they recommended Invisalign, something that is not permanent, that can be taken out, and then I can also brush my teeth as good as possible, I definitely wanted to give it a try. It was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend it to somebody else thinking of straightening out their teeth.

A Healthy Smile!

I originally came here, I had bleeding gums and stuff and when I just commonly brush my teeth. And so my introduction was getting into the office, identify this dentistry through a neighbor and friend, and I came here initially just trying to, “Hey, just get a cleaning,” and it really evolved around to, “Hey, this is the proper hygiene.” There was other additional things that was required, like cavities, things of that nature and stuff. I mean, Laser Dental and Dr. Pepa and Dr. Rosner really laid out a program for me for good dental hygiene and stuff, and the smile I have today is directly contributed to the good work that Laser Dental and Dr. Pepa is doing today. I’ve always been in a role where, a speaking capacity and stuff, and I kind of shied away of having something in front of my mouth. Migrated to a transition and working with Laser Dental where the smile was getting brighter, the health care, and we take things – we talk about bad breath, which is directly related to your hygiene and stuff, and so I don’t have that. I had that in the past.

And so my smile has become a lot brighter. I get compliments on my smile, and people literally ask me, “Who do you see? Who’s your doctor? Who’s your dentist?” I openly share with them who have brought me along to where I’m at today.

Repairing her Smile with Dental Crowns

I have been coming here for several years now. I have gotten several of my fillings replaced. I feel now I have a better smile because they’re the white fillings and … or the porcelain fillings, I should say. As they need to be replaced, I get them replaced. My gum and tissue has improved, I feel, coming here. When I come to the dental hygienist, Lisa, again, there’s no pain. It’s an enjoyable visit. We laugh, we talk. I feel no pain when I come.

I recently had a crown that I needed to have replaced. Dr. Pepa was there during the whole procedure. It was, again, she’d kept asking me, “Are you okay? Do you feel any pain?” “No.” It went fast. My crown came out wonderfully. It fits great and I’ve had no problems with it. Once I knew Dr. Pepa was going to be there, my anxiety goes away. I have none.

The staff is efficient and friendly, the dentist friendly and very good at her craft. I had an old silver filling replaced (they last a long time, but not forever). She painlessly numbed just that tooth and I left with a completed white filling, no facial numbness and no restrictions as to what or when I could eat next.
