What actually inspired me to start the practice was when I got out of dental school, I realized that if we were going to deliver the quality of treatment that I wanted to deliver, I’d have to have control of it. I was an associate in an office in Royal Oak for three months, and I learned what I didn’t want to do during those three months’ period of time. I left there and we opened this practice in October of ’78.
My motivation was to help people better their health and improve their ability to maintain it. I feel that if we can encourage and teach our patients how to easily maintain their oral health, they’ll live better lives because of it.
The most rewarding aspect would be seeing not only our patients refer their friends and family, but seeing their family members refer their friends and family to our practice. We have now three and four generations of patients coming to see us. I find it absolutely amazing.
Being that I’ve been doing dentistry now for over 40 years, it’s incredible to see it evolve the way it has. We’re always trying to better our skills. Dentistry is changing. Dentistry is becoming much more involved, much more digital, and you have to stay up with that. You have to keep up that. We want to deliver the best for our patients. We want to deliver the best products. We want to deliver the best dentistry. You have to be able to know what’s best for them. If it’s always changing, you’ve got to change with them.
